Is Siri an AI agent?
Short answer: kind of, but not really — yet.
Siri is what most people would call a voice assistant. You ask it something, it answers or does one small thing — set a timer, send a text, play a song. That's helpful, but it's a single step.
A true AI agent does a chain of steps on its own. "Find me a plumber, check reviews, get me a quote, book Tuesday morning" — Siri won't do that whole trip. It'll usually just Google "plumber near me" and hand you the results.
Apple has been quietly upgrading Siri to be more agent-like, so this could change. But if you're asking today, in 2026: Siri is a helper for quick tasks, not a full agent.
